Mania Butterfly - Jormungand

Another sheet music that is still hard to transcribe is Mania Butterfly. Iwasaki Taku seemed know very well how to make a difficult music (T.T)

I leave the chords part now, see if someday I can work on them. Meanwhile, violinist should try this beautiful score. I would think Intermediate musicians can do this. However, this is a good 'etude' for Beginner-Intermediate musicians.

If there's any expert musician who can play the accompaniment part (chords), that would be great! If cello, violins, and violas are not available, then piano can substitute. Maybe also good with harp. Either way, you just need to try.

Anyway, nobody has ever played this score and upload it to youtube. So this is your chance!

I will update this page if I can make the chords.

Altair - Sakamichi no Apollon

At last! At last! At last! (T___T)
I can finish this.

One of the hardest song to transcribe. It has so many chromatic chords and additional chords. It took three days for me only to work on the chords! I am glad it's finished now.

Technical Challenges

This is a challenging work. The chords is flowing: so many changing chords even on one bar. Seeing the complexity of the chords -- rather than the song itself, I should give this to Intermediate-Expert and Expert musicians. Intermediate musicians surely can try, of course with extra practices.

The song itself is a medium challenging. Definitely the song part (solo) can be played by Intermediate musician. The challenging part - of course - the transition of keys. I think the hardest part for singer is to maintain your breaths. Many part of this song are divided into long phrases.

Please take a note for both musician on solo part (or singer) and musician on accompaniment: the tempo of this song is always changing and the changing is very slight. Without metronome, you might not be able to see the 'drastic' change. So please compare the original sound to your metronome, to study the changing.

Lyric Translation

I decided to put 2 translation styles, one from shiori (I called it Translation ver. A), and another from animeyay (Translation ver. B). The reason is because shiori's style is the closest to the Japanese lyric, where i can easily "cut" them by lines, so it's exactly like a poem. animeyay version, is almost like shiori, but it is more like a short story; it's more complete and using 'unusual' choice of words which makes it beautiful. Of course there are differences in their translation. So this is a good opportunity to study the lyric's meaning.

Examples

Out of my expectation, very little or almost no one tried this. The good thing is, I found one singer and one pianist. The singer has a beautiful voice and everything else is perfect! (Even his Japanese is good!)

So here is the video from flipocrisy.

Another one is a pianist -- I am pretty sure was a Japanese. What makes this performance interesting is the fact that he didn't really follow the original style. Instead, he put some flavour of jazz. It was a brilliant interpretation and skills! And this is the video from onanieCEO

In the end, I wish more people play this beautiful song. Happy spring time.

Heion Buji - BRAVE 10

Hi again, all nice musicians!

This time we bring BRAVE10 score for you. It is not too hard, except maybe the sharps position. I think it depends on what music instrument you are mastering. For violin, possibly it is challenging for Beginner-Intermediate students; but Intermediate shall already able to encounter with supervision or totally independent.

We don't see it as a hard piece to play for piano, both for solo or as accompaniment. Basically the original sound was a harp, but change into piano, keyboard, or even guitar is possible.

Nobody yet play this score on youtube. So we can't give you any extra example. If you play and publish it, let us know!

Beautiful Love - Uta no Prince-sama

Long absence from featuring fellow transcriber, so this is a fresh work from Daichi-samax a sheet from Uta no Prince-sama Shuffle Unit CD: Mikaze Ai, Hijirikawa Masato, and Kurusu Syo. It is definitely a song, not too hard but a bit tricky with the changing keys. Whether performed by singer or with music instruments, I would think this is still quite advance. So Intermediate skills are required.

I did not test this sheet music, but I did comparing the sound to sheet music and so far it was reliable one. However, please take a note that this sheet is made for flute. I compared it to the piano version, transcribed by LIEZE and the opening key were both played on Bb (B flats major). So I made my own conclusion that both are played on the same tune.

So for flutist (is that how we call the flute musician?), here is Beautiful Love.

A Corner of Memories - P4 (game)

Oh nooooo! It's already March, I only posted twice on Feb T_T

So here is the request from Persona 4 (one of my favorite game). I thought it was hard to work on the chords, but thank God, it was much easier.

The sounds are having influence from jazz, in my opinion, and a tiny influence of latin music. However it's not so difficult to play. Should it goes with Intermediate student/musician; she must be able to play. Pianist should try a different way of playing. The main melody is actually playable with violin, trumpet, and other instruments. Of course, an adjustment is required.

I keep saying about 'playing with other instruments' and 'play with different style' but some of you might clueless or confuse as you just a Beginner. So no worry! This time (and hopefully for next times), I found 2 awesome interpretation of this music score. I decided to skip all the piano covers in Youtube, because it would be just 'plain' piano. Luckily, there are 2 guitarists playing and each has their own way to play, which becomes a perfect sample.

The first one:
Played by KeatonFox, even though using guitar as instrument, it still has a lot sense of the original sounds. Plainly when you compare to the original, the style used by him is same. However, I like the fact that he played it with guitar.

The second one:
played by J0shuaChristian, is a totally different interpretation. It takes a bit slower tempo (beats), also different style. In this interpretation, the chords are mostly played as arpeggio style, more like pop arrangement, but actually requires more classic skills. When I heard this, I would imagine hearing it on my road trip.

But these are only samples. You are not obliged to do the same. Re-interpretation is a good way to see a work (in this case: music) in a different point of view. In a simple way: you see it out of the box.

So, have fun with music, and E N J O Y!!
